BiblioCommons Appoints Marty Tarle as General Manager

Toronto, Ontario, June 23, 2023 — BiblioCommons is pleased to announce the appointment of Marty Tarle as the new General Manager of BiblioCommons as of July 1, 2023. Marty will replace Sebastien Lopes, who will transition into a new role within the parent company, Volaris Group, leading multiple companies in the library industry.

“Given Marty's background, this is the best natural transition for BiblioCommons,” shared Sebastien. “Marty's exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, and library industry experience make him the ideal candidate to build upon our successes and drive BiblioCommons and its library partners to new heights.”

As the new General Manager, Marty will oversee all aspects of BiblioCommons’ operations, strategy, and performance.

Marty co-founded BiblioCommons in 2007 and has held multiple leadership roles in the company, including Chief Technology Officer and, most recently, Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure with BiblioCommons, he has established a proven track record of innovation in the library technology space and built strong relationships with public library partners.

"The BiblioCommons team is passionate about delivering an online patron experience that reflects all the amazing value public libraries provide to their communities. That mission is more critical today than ever," said Marty. "I look forward to collaborating with our team and library partners as we continue to advance that mission."

With twenty years of senior leadership experience across technology, strategy, and operations roles, Marty is poised to lead BiblioCommons into a new era of growth, innovation, and customer-centric excellence.
