BiblioCommons Launches BiblioEmail: Integrated, Accessible, Automated Email Marketing Designed for Public Libraries

Toronto, Ontario, February 24, 2021 — Officially announced today at the BiblioCon '21 Welcome Keynote, BiblioEmail is now available to all public libraries for pre-order as part of the BiblioCommons suite of services. BiblioEmail is specifically designed for public libraries looking to personalize their email marketing efforts. The new product's most notable feature is the ability to repurpose content that has already been created in BiblioWeb — making the email creation process much more streamlined and staff-friendly.

Developed in partnership with Chicago Public Library (CPL) and Arapahoe Libraries, BiblioEmail features intuitive easy to use email workflows to create beautiful, accessible, and targeted emails and e-newsletters to support and engage the library's community and promote all that the library offers.

"CPL seeks to create engaging website content that encourages patrons to connect with the library and discover all we have to offer," said Keri Cascio, Assistant Commissioner of Technology, Content and Innovation. "The integration of BiblioEmail into our production workflow allows us to push personalized messaging and content to patrons that go beyond traditional email marketing."

With libraries offering a wide range of services, collections, and events, it's vital that libraries are empowered to target audiences within the community rather than sending general announcements to everyone and reaching no one. BiblioEmail ensures community members have a reliable channel to discover library services, events, and collections relevant to their interests and needs.

"We are committed to providing outstanding and personalized service to Arapahoe Libraries patrons," said Marketing and Website Supervisor, Marcie Stanley. "Patrons have long requested to receive more communications based on their interests, and BiblioEmail has given us the tools to accomplish this goal."

Creating visually appealing personalized email marketing can be time-consuming and often daunting. BiblioEmail leverages the existing BiblioWeb platform, giving libraries the tools to manage their content via the website and easily drag, drop, and automate content into emails. BiblioEmail also uses existing taxonomies to manage content via BiblioWeb to ensure patrons can quickly discover related events, collections, and services.
